ROCK OF AGES: READY TO ROCK!!!

It’s happened.... it’s finally happened! Rock of Ages Entertainment is now OFFICIALLY LIVE on the internet!! Our website has been a long time coming, and for that I do apologise, as I know some of you have been waiting to hear this great news for almost as long as we have. But hey, now, the time is right, and Rock of Ages Entertainment is hot on the heels of bringing you back the good stuff... Our aim is to build the site up over the course of the next 6-12 months to become the one-stop-shop for all things rock 'n' roll...!!

Just finished is the online community of the website and the festival page. The community is an area we hope will expand and give you the chance to reach out and touch base with rock fans locally, regionally, across the nation and internationally, and we hope that the site's promotions, features and interactive elements will introduce you to some of the amazing artists that are out there, and introduce you to some new lifelong friends who share your passion and zeal for rock music.

We'd also like to pay tribute to the fantastic Tony from ROCK$TAR - one of the bands performing at this year's "Rock of Ages Fest". Tony has gone above and beyond the call of duty to bring the band to Tamworth in the name of Rock N Roll, and has created the incredible graphics that have graced the fliers and promotional posters, and which have been the tool through which we have driven most of myspace crazy with our constant plugging - but all in the name of Cancer Research UK, who will recieve the profits from this amazing event!! CHEERS TONY!!! YOU ROCK MAN!!!

The festival takes place at Tamworth's legendary "The Palace" on September 8th & 9th 2007, and boasts an incredible lineup featuring local legend & former Iron Maiden vocalist Blaze Bayley, alongside former band (and regional metal icons) "Wolfsbane", as well as Girlschool, Dante Fox, The Satin Dolls, Fiori, Rock$tar, Lost In Vegas, Mr Fixit (who supported Wolfsbane at The Palace many moons ago when the Palace was under previous ownership and before it shut down for years), Morph, Stairway, Sacred Heart, New Generation Superstars, Jack Viper, Fuckshovel, Melonfarmer and Daz Rigo!

We are currently compiling our tribute page so that everyone who helped get the first ever Rock of Ages Fest up and running will get a mention! We Love You ALL...!!!

FIRST FESTIVAL SPONSORS

Rock of Ages Entertainment is proud to announce the official sponsors of the first EVER "Rock of Ages Fest". Our title sponsors for this year's events are family search engine "Mookhunter.com", and popular rock internet-radio station "ARFM". In addition, we are honoured to have "Tri Rock Radio" from Seattle, "GetReadyToRock.com", Yorkshire-based radio programme "The Metal Head Show" onboard, alongside competition hosts "Sonicbids".

The sponsorships recieved from these fantastic people are contributing towards saving lives, and bringing the journey to a cure for all cancers forward. We salute every one of them - angels and lifesavers!!

ROCKER OF THE MONTH

Our "Rockers Of The Month" award has to go this month, to two of the most amazingly rockin' rock fans in Britain for going far above and beyond the call of duty in helping Rock of Ages boss Steve in preparation for the festival.

These guys aren't the only people who have helped, but they have been the most heavily involved in terms of suggesting artists to be checked out for the event, as well as coming up with great promotional ideas, and providing the boss with the occassional slap he needed at times!

So – a massive thanks to the fantastic Ian, and to the lovely Donna (AKA ROCKBABE), who have been totally amazing people to have on board for the preparation stages of the festival and who have been a real inspiration during the nail biting run-up to the event, which takes place on the 8th & 9th September 2007!

This section of the home page will become the Rock of Ages shrine to FAN POWER....!! Fan power is the lifeblood of the entertainments industry, and has made the world of icons and celebrities what it is today - and this is our little way of some of the wonderful people who continue to help "make the rockin' world go 'round!"

Until next time folks – keep rockin’ in the free world... next time – it could be you!!

WANKER OF THE WEEK

Welcome to one of our most popular features - although this is generally for a bit of fun and not to cause offense, even we can't help agreeing with most of the public's choices for nominations - and this week - we have had a rich list of nominations, and the final vote really was the deciding one! Sadly it appears that Simon Cowell has been considered unworthy to continue for a 2nd week as our user's wanker of the week!

By popular demand from the general public, it has been unanimously decided by people with great taste that none other than The Spice Girls, who have reformed briefly for a pension filling tour of the UK, truly are wankers of the week!

For those of you still sad enough to parade your Spice Girls albums.... be ashamed.... be VERY ashamed! Lol! ;)

PICTURE OF THE WEEK

Just for a laugh, "Picture Of The Week" is a moment to reflect on the dumbass-ness and utter blonde moments that many of us encounter day to day. This week’s funny picture is one that sums up the world in so many ways! Click the picture to view a larger version
